SUCH a good
week. I'm literally exhausted so this will be short, but theres pictures so you
cant yell at me.
First
off...Happy birthday Mary!!!! Not always the best having birthdays in a new
sector, but you're awesome for dealing with it and holding out happy. Hope you
had some extra orange chicken for me that day! They have that there right? No?
Second off.
Today we took some mountain bikes from some members and we rode to this place
called las canteras de deuco. Seriously one of the coolest little lakes I've
ever seen. the water is SUPER clear (like almost the Delta) no but for real its
really clear, its warm because Angol is so hot, and its just surrounded by pine
trees. like a little oasis. So cool. Anyway it made my desire to swim go
through the ROOF but it was still really fun to be next to it. We hiked all
around, watched the couples swimming in the lake, watched the little kids
jumping off the rocks. Haha kind of torture now that i think about it. But i just
felt so Tengberg biking there again. Also, one of my FAVORITE moments from my
mission now is watching Elder Ochoa ride a bike. he gets on, bikes like 20
feet, then bikes STRAIGHT into a HUGE prickly plant. I probably filmed like 20
minutes today of just him biking. I don't know if he never had before or he
just never liked it, but the poor kid was awful. he fell about 20 times and
granted its 4 miles to the canteras from Angol. Anyway, such precious little
treats sometimes. He is from Lima downtown and apparently never had to bike
anywhere. Hilarious stuff. Those will be videos i will treasure forever.
Noche en
gringolandia! Went super well. I made cookies this time and this time it was
100x better than las time. the cookies turned out amazing, we used m & m s
instead of chocolate chips and then made snicker doodles. We had about 25
investigators there so i would say that was a success! Three REALLY good new
families who are friends of members. Might not be fast but we won them over,
thats the important thing! I am also a master cookie baker now. Seriously so
fun.
Familia Romero
Espinoza...i know that i write a different family every single week, but i
swear these are real people! These ones are golden. Like getting baptized si o
si. They went to church sunday and elder kelly and i went into extreme mood, he
pinned them down (not literally but blocked the exit) and i got everyone to go
say hi to them. The members are stoked. They are already MARRIED which doesn't
happen in chile. They are an amazing family. Seriously i am SO SO SO excited
about them.
The mom said that they were actually looking for a church as a
family, and that day they were talking about it and just didn't know where to
go because nothing made them feel happy. Then that night elder medina and i
knocked the door (we had talked to the husband the day before in the street) It
was honestly so cool to see their progress. Their baptismal date is for the
11th of next month. we have everyone excited about them. Marcelo is the dad,
Priscila is the mom. She is MADE to be a primary president just perfect. like
32, super super loving and gentle with her kids, so fun. Franco is 11 and we
have him on english classes once a week that he is loving. And Gaspar. Gapsar
is just a riot. Seriously i love that kid...every time he sees us he YELLS,
super loud, "The Tengbergs! The tengbergs are coming!" and he thinks
we are both called that. hahaha like i just die every time laughing.. and in
church he was a riot. I brought coloring books, a Friend magazine, candies, everything.
but he loved it, especially singing. And after everything he kept yelling
"Alleluia! Alleluia jesus!" hahaaha i was laughing so hard. I want to
take him back home with me, seriously.
Anyway...i
love you all. Super blessed to be here. Super blessed to be where i am with who
i am. elder Kelly is s stud, great guy with a great heart and we get along
awesome. Loving life right now.
Elder Tengberg
