What to say
what to say. Another week at the grind! Just working hard and seeing things
happen nonstop. This week was pretty slow because of the holidays and stuff
like that, but its also been really good. Our family is absolutely ready for
next saturday, they have already all the commandments taught and all the
lessons, we just have to wait now until it happens! So thats great stuff. Haha
we are actually going to spend new years day with them, we are going to make
peruvian food with elder Salazar and elder Ochoa. I do a lot of food things don't
i? I feel like i might do too much. But oh well, its al good.
I have had a
good growing experience this week. I have been reading through the book of
mormon all focused on hearing and following the promptings of the spirit, and
its been a remarkable experience. Just seeing how little I understood the
spirit and why we should follow it is incredible. but its really helped me out
to read how the spirit always invites us to be better and doesn't really
care if we understand why or not. Everything i have read is just about
following, trusting that God has the right thing planned for us, and then
knowing that it will work out in the end. The spirit always invites us to love
God more, to give up more of our heart to him, to be a little more obedient, to
be a little more righteous. We do things so often that impede us from feeling
it, and its always just pride. No matter what problem, it generally comes from
the fact that we are prideful and don't let God work how he could work in our
lives. Im starting to trust more, to love more, to obey more. its been a really
cool experience. We should always try and listen to the spirit a little more,
and the Book of Mormon is just packed full of experiences
Since i have
really nothing to talk about, ill just send lots of pictures. haha I'm sorry
but since i talked to you just recently i have nothing else left to say! We
just are cruising along.
Our pancake
breakfast, a successful day in teaching the word of wisdom (we got Cesar to
give up all his coffee, Marcelo to give up cigarettes, and Caesars last empty
commemorative beer can. pretty fun day) haha and then my comp and i with the
familia Valenzuela for christmas dinner. fun stuff :)
Love you all!
Elder Tengberg
