WELL my son
was born this week. and wow it has been a crazy week. we seriously have gone
through a roller coaster of a week but it has just been so so so so much fun.
Seriously, i love him so much. He is an awesome missionary and came with just
so much fuego and animo that its impossible to stop him. haha there a few
things that i realized i had gotten accustomed to that are actually SUPER weird
according to people who are fresh from the states - like for example, the fact
that our bathroom is so broken that we have to fill up a water jug in the
kitchen sink and then take it into the bathroom to fill up the water tank above
the toilet so that it can flush. Four times. I had completely forgotten that
that was, in fact, NOT normal and that i shouldn't have to do that to fill a
toilet up. But asi es la vida.
Anyway, we
have just had a blast of a week. obviously it was crazy hard to leave elder
Salazar and we actually had a couple of tender moments. Ill miss that kid a
lot, and so will the people here in coronel. He is a heck of a missionary and
we grew a ton together. Just different chapters of the mission, but so cool to
see how the lord uses each companionship to do different things. We are here
together now, overson and i, just to baptize. The kid is seriously 100% faith
and doesn't care that his spanish is struggling, but just relies on the lord
and we have seen miracles because of it. And i might add, i understand parents
now. I can relate to the incident now where parents hold their newborn babies
in their arms for the first time. My first baby was a little heavier and
hairier and nicely dressed than i expected, but HEY, its a cool thought holding
your baby in your arms. We got a good kick out of taking lots of picutres and
having lots of fun. We have bee working real hard on his spanish and eveyrthing
else, and also just tyring really hard to have fun. His first night here, we
were walking on a kind of scary dirt path in the middle of a forest little
thing (i have no idea how to describe things in english anymore) and i just
started SCREAMING and bolted away sprinting. Hahaha i was laughing so hard when
he was just like ELDERRRRRR WAIT!!!! hahaha i love the kid so much. He is an
incredible missioary. As i said before, his name is Elder Overson from Gilbert,
Arizona. He is 18 years old and was like "yeah, basically pres monson
changed the age and i put my papers in." Haha these new missionaries are
coming in and chaning the mission, its insane. I hate to think of myself as not
"new" anymore but i still kind of am. right??
Anyway, our goals
for this cambio are keeping us super animated. We have quite a few families and
people that have been attending church and we have a goal of 8 baptisms for
april. We know its super high and its a stretch, but we felt that the spirit
prompted us to choose that number, so we know that if we give it our all and
are 100% obedient that we will get it done. We are trying to become the most
effective missioanries possible and just do everything we can to serve the
lord. We are beyond excited and are going to see miracles, i just know it. Its
made me so excited seeing him work because i can totally relate to marys first
week in hong kong now! I 100% know she has just lit a fire under her trainer
and is probably already doing miracles out there. Ching muhk sfmiu sflmieu
juiam. Thats chinese, right? i cannot imagine speaking that....so crazy.
Anyway, i have
literally no time left. I'm still in coronel, still loving the ward, still
freezing my butt off as it gets to winter, and still loving the mission. there
is just truly nothing better. this is such a special time in my life and i am
so grateful to the lord to have it. I have learned so much about myself and
cant wait to see how much more i change throughout this process. The church is
true, god loves every one of us, and i couldnt be more grateful for that
knowledge.
Les quiero
mucho
