Well just
another crazy week! Haha can i just say that i am exhausted? I am so mentally
and emotionally and physically tired. haha this week has just been crazy and
I'm fearing that this is going to be the same thing for a long long time. But
thats life! Just got to keep moving forward and praying that the Lord can help
us do things that we couldn't do on our own. Anyway...here is this week.
I was on the
radio! That was exciting. We had about an half hour interview on the radio here
in victoria but it transmits to all of the 9th region of chile...so just kind
of a big deal. Haha I'm sure no one listens to it but it was still cool. I mean
heck if we knock on a door on tuesday and it leads to an interview wednesday,
its not like the schedule was THAT booked up. But we got to talk all about the
church and us and our main beliefs and some common myths of the church. THat
was really cool Elder Dominguez and i have now been on TV interviews and on
radio too. Haha kind of ridiculous right? i have copies of the two so when i
get home you can watch them. you're going to die at how fast i talk in spanish.
its at least twice as fast as i talk in english...kind of bad right? you'll
love it.
Marcelito got
baptized! We had an awesome week and the guy is just so excited. His parents
came and supported him 100% and were so happy too. President Martinez happened
to be there for a district conference so he got to be there for the baptism and
that was my favorite part. Having him there made me feel so happy and i just loved
seeing him watch our favorite little teenager get baptized. Marcelito is like a
brother to me. We wrestle all the time, i gave him my beanie and a tie, and we
just mess around so much. We had another joven in the ward do the baptism, so
its good that he will be nice and taken care of now. i don't have my camera
today because we are here in Concepcion for a leadership training meeting
thingamajig so i don't have pictures. BUT the best part was after! After, even
though it was like 10:10 already and our hour to be in the house is 10:15
latest, Marcelo (the dad) went up to president martinez and asked him if we
could go out to get pizza with him! Haha so we put on our biggest puppy smiles
ever and president just gave us this look like "did you REALLY have your
investigator ask for you?" and just laughed and said yes. considering
marcelo is a general in the army, president was like "i assume they will
be well protected haha" and he let us go! so it was my very first pizza
"cheng out" (I'm so chinese aren't i mary?) and it was so fun. We got
6 pizzas, i told them all about the tengberg family and how annoying it is to
eat pizza with us because we eat it SO fast and don't slow down. I told them
about my friends who claimed they ate the most and left the crust (andrew burt,
i still am mad at you for eating all that hawaiian pizza and leaving that
crust, so lame dude), told them about brett eating all the pizza EXCEPT the
"everything" pizza that he ordered so that he could take it all
confidently knowing no one would eat his. haha it was hilarious. so i was a
very happy boy getting my pizza again. And he may have bought us 6 pizzas but
details are really fuzzy. Anyway, we are doing great. We are kind of in a lull
in bringing people to church right now but we just have to really sacar la
mugre and get things going this week. Also that translation makes NO sense so i
just left it how it is. oops!
Well...thats
all. I don't think there are any cool new stories? we painted our kitchen
green, we keep throwing the cat in the window for everyone who comes to the
house in victoria, I'm hiding in literally every corner of the house to scare
my kid elder overson again, my companion and i are working hard together, and
the zone is doing great. We had the most baptisms in the whole mission and we
are the smallest zone so we were really proud of that. Its super unified too
and next week we are going bowling again so that will be fun too! Anyway. IM
doing great here. Things are good :)
Kind of
feeling lame that I'm just in a small suburb town of victoria chile and mary is
on an island...like really? my stories are about middle class suburb folks and
the stories of cibers with màs o menos keyboards. so lame in comparison to
yours mary. Hahaha but MAN can i make a good empanada! So thats all that
matters.
Thanks for all
your love and support! You're an amazing family and i love you more than you
can imagine!
Elder Tengberg
